DOBIEFEST 2026 - Saturday 20th June - Arena UK, NG32 2EF

The Code of Practice applies to all dogs & owners taking part in or visiting Dobiefest

  1. All owners and exhibitors must take reasonable steps to ensure they meet the following welfare needs of their dogs whilst they are at the event.
  2. By entering the event, you agree to abide by all aspects of the Animal Welfare Act.
  3. If your dog is left in a vehicle for any length of time, you should check it frequently to ensure it is not in danger or distressed. It should be able to move around for its comfort, avoiding becoming too hot or cold. Dogs are vulnerable to heat stress in hot weather and should not be left unattended for long periods of time.
  4. Dogs must always have access to clean fresh drinking water.
  5. Allow your dog access to an appropriate place, away from its resting area, which it can use as a toilet as regularly as needed and always clean up after your dog and dispose of any waste matter.
  6. Ensure dogs are always kept under effective control and do not present a danger to other people or animals. Dogs inside the venue should be kept on short leads and not extending leads.
  7. Dogs under your control must be handled correctly and are not stressed, or endangered by other adults, children or animals.
  8. The mating of bitches within the precincts of the event is forbidden.

A breach of the Code of Practice may result in expulsion from the event and/or reporting to the relevant statutory authorities as appropriate.

This Code of Practice follows the Kennel Club’s best practice and guidance in respect of the welfare of dogs.
